Overview

Reports To: Vice President, Mortgage Operations

 

Functions Supervised: All closing functions and daily activities.

 

Primary Functions: Responsible for timely and accurate mortgage loan closing and performance of closing staff.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Oversee all mortgage closing functions and daily workflow related to closing activities. Train, develop, supervise, and conduct performance evaluations and other personnel actions for all subordinates.
  2. Organize and supervise scheduling of daily work production of closers.
  3. Ensure loan disbursement activities are completed accurately and timely for boarding to the servicing system.
  4. Ensure all closers have prepared files accurately and timely for transfer to the Loan Delivery department.
  5. Coordinate with Corrections, Closing, and Loan Delivery teams to make certain corrections for pending purchases or mortgage insurance are obtained timely, to meet investor and agency requirements.
  6. Conduct periodic audits of random samples of closed loans to ensure all closing documents have been scanned into the imaging system, and are complete and legible.
  7. Communicate and coordinate with originating and underwriting staff to facilitate excellent member service.
  8. Review current practices and procedures and provide recommendations to senior management regarding changes that may enhance member service, or improve efficiency within the department.
  9. Conduct ongoing individual and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication.
  10. Review and respond to internal and external Quality Control audit findings to ensure quality standards are being met.
  11. Maintain current working knowledge of existing laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures pertaining to real estate and mortgage lending.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or management with advanced industry courses in real estate lending including knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations.

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: At least three years management/supervisory experience and at least five years experience in mortgage closing. Advanced industry courses in real estate lending recommended.

 

Experience/Skills: Good communication skills and a thorough knowledge of mortgage loan closing documentation requirements. Must have a minimum of three years management / supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to train staff. Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision. Must have demonstrated an ability to routinely close a high volume of loans without errors. Advanced industry courses in real estate lending and closing recommended.

Compensation

Mortgage Closing Manager (Category 06)

 

Salary Pay Range: $100,331 - $172,572 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

 

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
