Reports to: Payroll Manager
Functions Supervised: None
Primary Functions: Responsible for all functions related to the processing of employee payroll for Global Credit Union and related companies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education: High school graduate or the equivalent with two semesters of college Accounting.
Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Three years experience in an accounting or accounting-related position where similar concepts and procedures were used may be substituted for the two semesters of Accounting.
Experience/Skills: Three years experience processing payroll in an automated environment is preferred. Basic typing and proficiency with 10-key calculator by touch, along with good mathematical and analytical skills is required. Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to payroll required.
Tenure: Payroll Specialist II (Category 12) requires nine months tenure in the Payroll Specialist I (Category 13) position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Senior Payroll Specialist (Category 11) requires satisfactory performance in the Payroll Specialist l (Category 13) or Payroll Specialist ll (Category 12) position with proven ability to manage an increase in the job responsibilities. Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate’s performance. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
Salary Pay Range:
Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.
In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
