Overview

Reports to: Consumer Lending Quality Control Supervisor

 

Functions Supervised: None

 

Primary Functions: Perform quality control reviews for policy and regulatory compliance, to include but not limited to lending/collection/recovery portfolios, financial and demographic transactions, and adverse actions for all Consumer Lending departments (lending departments include consumer loan origination, servicing, and collection teams). Perform quality control reviews on critical third-party vendors to ensure compliance with contractual terms and applicable laws and regulations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for quality reviews to ensure timeliness of Consumer Lending business unit routines and adherence to established credit union policy, procedures and practices, and internal controls. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Loan Originations, Funding, Underwriting
    • Collection accounts, repossessions, liquidations, amendments, charged off accounts.
    • Credit reporting, titling, operation servicing, administration
    • Third Party Vendor Oversight as applicable to our department
  1. Responsible for identifying opportunities during quality reviews to reduce risk for the credit union and members as it relates to regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and internal controls.
  2. Review and recommend changes to Consumer Lending processes to ensure adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk of employee errors, oversights, and malfeasance.
  3. Prepare written summaries for management upon completion of review outlining exceptions and provide management the opportunity to remedy as necessary.
  4. Present relevant employee or systematic errors, oversights, trends, and/or malfeasance to Managers and Executives as applicable.
  5. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all Consumer Lending business units' operations, systems, services, procedures, workflows, and training materials.
  6. Utilize multiple systems to generate reports to establish statistically relevant sample sizes for reviews and to research processes completed by the Consumer Lending business unit.
  7. Assist with completion, review, and submission of quarterly, annual, or ad hoc reports requested by the credit union's regulators, internal or external auditors, and peer compliance teams.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Demonstrated understanding of consumer, credit card, and/or real estate lending, collections, and servicing, or equivalent experience within a financial institution.

 

Experience/Skills: Candidates must have experience acceptable to management in consumer, credit card and/or real estate lending, collections, and servicing fields. Candidate should be willing to seek opportunities for independent growth and development and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Applicants must be detail orientated and demonstrate the ability to review individual scenarios, as well as high level processes, for compliance issues. Must also demonstrate strong organizational, writing and communication skills, along with solid analytical and computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Tenure: Assignment to Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer I (Category 12), Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer II (Category 11) or Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer III (Category 10) requires meeting proven acceptable performance standards as established by management. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.

Compensation

Salary Pay Range:

  • Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer I (Category 12): $53,226 - $81,405 annually
  • Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer II (Category 11): $57,484 - $90,230 annually
  • Consumer Lending Quality Control Officer III (Category 10): $63,233 - $99,908 annually

Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

 

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
