Overview

Reports To: Research Processing Officer

 

Functions Supervised: None

 

Primary Functions: Process incoming mail transactions, MRMS and returned mail.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Process mail share and loan transactions and authorized maintenance, to include information requests for members and potential members.
  2. Research and resolve non-confirming mail share and loan transactions.
  3. Provide account status letters and documents to members as requested.
  4. Process account verifications while ensuring proper member authorization.
  5. Process MRMS requests and perform account adjustments and corrections as needed.
  6. Process returned mail.
  7. Initiate and process E-Sign documents.
  8. Post data entry transactions for various credit union departments.
  9. Retrieve credit union records in support of credit union operations or in compliance with pending legal actions.
  10. Process complex loan modifications and adjustments and returned loan payments as assigned.
  11. Provide support and technical assistance to branches and departments.
  12. Perform progressively responsible duties to include: a) Research specific transactions on accounts using resources available from all credit union departments to resolve problems and communicate results to the member or other department personnel; b) Research accounts with incorrect addresses and accounts classified as abandoned. Contact members to obtain the correct address or communicate special instructions regarding the account in questions; c) Be familiar with credit union policies and operations procedures of other credit union departments as they apply to the situation under review; d) Perform transaction adjustments and complete file maintenance as appropriate to each situation.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not applicable.

 

Experience/Skills: Must have the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with members and employees on complex account issues. Must be familiar with cashiering functions and be able to process and record transactions accurately. The position requires an aptitude for math and general accounting. The ability to work with limited supervision, solve problems, display good judgment and pay attention to detail is also required. Must be well organized and able to adapt to new policies and procedures.

 

Tenure: Research Processing Specialist II, category 16, requires six months tenure in the Research Processing Specialist I position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Research Processing Specialist III, category 15, requires six months tenure in the Research Processing Specialist II position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Senior Research Processing Specialist, category 14, requires six months tenure in the Research Processing Specialist III position with performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training may be substituted for tenure.

 

 

Compensation

Salary Pay Range:

  • Research Processing Specialist I (Category 17): $34,840 - $49,125 annually
  • Research Processing Specialist II (Category 16): $36,582 - $51,947 annually
  • Research Processing Specialist III (Category 15): $38,412 - $55,312 annually
  • Senior Research Processing Specialist (Category 14): $41,484 - $60,567 annually

Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

 

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
