Senior Special Credits Control Officer

Reports To: SC Control Manager

Functions Supervised: Control

Primary Functions: Perform collection activity on assigned accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform all duties of a Special Credits Control Officer III.
2. Responsible for review of Control collection and associated work and for making recommendations regarding the need for adjustment in work routines.
3. Responsible for the daily management and workflow for assigned accounts.
4. Responsible for authorizing closure of credit limits consistent with credit union policy and procedures.
5. Responsible for negotiating and recommending refinances for members experiencing financial difficulties according to credit union policies, to include use of real and personal property liens, extended terms, special interest rates and extended periods for first payment due dates.
6. Responsible for recommending, preparation and administration of financial obligation in accordance with the Charge Off Policy.
7. Develop and train staff to understand and comply with all policies, laws and procedures as they relate to collections.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Not Applicable

Experience/Skills: Must have at least two years experience in the consumer collection field with proven ability to proficiently and efficiently collect delinquent financial obligations. Requires demonstrable proficiency and efficiency in collection of Visa, Extra Credit, Consumer, Real Estate and Commercial Loan portfolios. Must have advanced knowledge of all office equipment and systems used for collections to include software products for daily, weekly, and monthly collection operations. Must have a proven ability to evaluate difficult situations and exercise good judgment. Requires good written and verbal communication skills. Must have good human relation skills and a strong personality to effectively handle adverse situations routinely. Some supervisory experience preferred.

Senior Special Credits Control Officer (Category 09)

Salary Pay Range: $63,233 - $101,804 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
